IDEA celebrates development of a National Apprenticeship Scheme in ICT
IDEA Ltd is celebrating its success in establishing a national Group Training Association (GTA) for information and communications technology (ICT) apprentices. The GTA, which is led by e-skills (the national ICT sector skills council) and has Microsoft as a key partner alongside IDEA, will be funded by the National Apprenticeship Service and will support the innovative delivery of new apprenticeships across the country.

IDEA Ltd, the joint venture between BT, Cisco, University College London, University of East Anglia, University of Essex, University Campus Suffolk and Suffolk New College, launched earlier this year by the Prime Minister is celebrating the launch of its innovative IDEA Apprenticeship Scheme (IAS) and the successful induction of its first cohort of apprentices.
IDEA has been established to design and deliver a unique skills escalator for the information and communications technology (ICT) sector ranging from Apprenticeships through Foundation Degree, Undergraduate and Post-Graduate provision. The IAS is the first of a number of new training schemes to be developed by IDEA in partnership with major universities and colleges. The IAS is a collaboration between IDEA and Suffolk New College supported by the Learning and Skills Council.
